I guess my event planning career started when I planned my first (of 27) Barbie weddings. I designed her bridal gowns and coordinating bridesmaid dresses out of scrap fabrics, picked fresh flowers from the garden and laid out a perfect toilet paper runner. When I attended Arizona State University, I was elected Activities Director of my dorm, Mariposa. I planned softball games, BBQs, tie-dye parties by the pool and even a concert to raise money for the local Women's Battery Hotline. Armed with a Hot Pot and a toaster oven, I would host Academy Awards parties and coordinate Couple's dinners where I wore a tuxedo outfit, served the couple Parmesan Chicken in white wine sauce and rice and had poetry read to them. Many times, I had male students scaling my balcony when they smelled my freshly baked chocolate chips cookies wafting into the quad.
In my mid-20's, I was a Brownie Girl Scout Leader. I was lucky enough to be Troop 106's leader for the 3 years they were Brownies until I got married and started a family of my own. I enjoyed teaching the girls new things and exposing them to new experiences. I was also the Service Unit Secretary as well as the Brownie/Daisy Playday Chairwoman. Today, I am my daughter's Brownie leader.
I was a Dental Assistant for 13 years in the Santa Clarita Valley and attended college to be a school teacher. I worked with kids at the dentist (they weren't real happy to see me) and if I were to be a teacher, I would have to assign homework (kids don't like that too much either) so I decided I only wanted to be with kids who were happy to see me, where I could be creative and teach. That is how I got into party planning.

I love to throw birthday parties for my children and am known for planning for them up to a year in advance. I love to go on the internet to find unique favors and decorations. This is what I would like to pass on to other parents for their children's parties. I believe that birthday parties should be celebrations, not glorified play dates. My parties should be special, intimate gatherings where the guests actually get to see and interact with the birthday child. In 10 years, when the guest and birthday child get together I want them to say “Remember your Fairy party. It was so much fun!”
My goal is to create childhood memories that last a lifetime!
